Spring evenings are filled with a symphony of gator songs during mating season, the chorus is similar to “peepers” in northern climates only louder. Walks along the lake are filled with surprises. Lately an alligator has been sunning itself in a grassy spot by the shore, creating opportunities to try out the new lens. What a thrill to see this gator with a baby on her back! CHILDHOOD comes in many forms.
ack! that would freak me out (unless I was at a very safe distance away). Are you supposed to run in a zig-zag motion if it comes on land, or is that for crocodiles?

Amazing photo. I hope you had a long lens.

I didn’t even notice the baby until I read it. I was liking the middle where the water is and the gator isn’t.

To me, that just seems an amazing sight! Is the tummy weighed down into the water because it’s just eaten a photographer who ventured too close? ๐

A “gator-back” ride for baby. I was thinking that this looked just like those concrete 2 or 3 part garden statues that one can buy that look like a partially submerged critter…but this is REAL!

This is a great image. Not only for the subject matter (which is very interesting) but the color, the framing and the clarity is spot on.
