You might see one of these birds at a ZOO

There is no ZOO nearby but there are plenty of creatures in the neighborhood.

This is one of the many Sandhill Cranes that roams through our neighborhood.

  1. it amazes me when people say things like ‘roams through our neighbourhood, or in our back yard’ with amazing creatures, you are so lucky, this is a fabulous close up your Sandhill Crane…gorgeous bird.

    • Thanks Bob. This breed of cranes are cousins to the ones that are endangered… can’t think of their name but have seen a couple after their migration south.

  2. These migrate through Nebraska every Spring…it is amazing to see thousands of them on the river banks and in the corn fields! Awesome capture!

  3. Hi!
He’s a very handsome fellow. We have a few of those around here. They visit our park pond once in awhile. Have a great day!

  4. Only once I’ve seen a crane in wildlife, here, having a rest on it’s flight to the south. A wonderful picture!

  5. Beautiful close-up portrait! We see them passing through on their way to the Sandhill Refuge about 100 miles north in our state.
