When turtles come up for a breath of air one can see small protrusions coming through the waters surface. Turtles are shy, if they see a person nearby they dive under water and swim away. To catch a good glimpse staying motionless for long periods of time and a fairly long lens can be rewarding. This day two turtles surfaced together but, neither lingered long when they heard the camera shutter they quickly returned under the WATER.
Nice capture of the twin turtles swimming in the beautiful blue lake.

So their ears are that sensitive? Pretty amazing. My first visit to the deep south, with turtles and alligators, I thought I had been transported in time. Such a different world than that of your neighbors to the north.
