An adult Manatee and a juvenile swim UNDERWATER in the Crystal River
Great shot. I thought it was a floating piece of granite 🙂 but then thought an ancient mammal or something. I have never seen one in person in Florida.
Oh wow, now that is an awesome capture…we do not have these in my area, zoo or otherwise! I am always fascinated by this mammal!
I am so jealous I can’t wait for an opportunity to get out into Moreton Bay and try and do as good with out Dugongs (Australian Sea Cows) Close cousins I think!
I would love to swim with the manatees – is it allowed? Great shot of mama and baby.
Swimming with Manatee is permitted in select areas, water temperature is mid 60 degree F, wetsuits are needed.
What a great shot of the pair of them, how did you get so close?
Standing on a bridge over the river. Many were coming and going that day, This pair came towards the surface just before going under the bridge.
it’s fabulous, and really a great shot! Congratulations.
YOu were fast to catch them as they swam past. Catch with your camera not a fishing pole lololol
How wonderful! Such unlikely animals, glad they seem to be thriving there.
It is sure interesting to see such well photographed wildlife that is different than our wintery mix.
These are in the wild? Amazing!
