I thought these water lily pads were CONTAINERS

I thought these huge water lily pads were CONTAINERS for an upcoming art exhibit

until one of the groundskeepers at Bok Tower told me that they were indeed real.

They are a hybrid of an African river water lily and quite real!!

If ever you get to Australia’s Northern Territory you will see them covering entire Billabongs. And Native Australians inform me that every part of the plant is edible!

They do look perfect I couldn’t believe they were real until the groundskeeper showed me some that were decaying.
