Why is it that it takes a threat of destruction for many plants to begin to bloom or produce? I have a rose bush that I have threatened with removal to the compost heap but then the next year it is loaded with bloom and I don’t have the heart to dig it up. The image of a bird is so evident in your photo…a fascinating form of nature!

This one was transplanted more than a year ago and hadn’t bloomed I was about to dispose it when ‘lo and behold it bloomed.
