Grapefruit Baseball GAMES begin soon!

The Grapefruit League GAMES will soon begin! For those not familiar with major league baseball this is a reference to the American League. Spring training is a time for players to re-focus on the game and team owners to choose their roster for the season with the best athletes. Fans look forward to every aspect of opening day the sights, the sounds, the smells, the anticipation of entering the venue.

Many people buy season tickets, others prefer selecting their seat the day of the game. Some people go so far to plan their vacations according to the schedules of their favorite teams.

Hmmmmmmm, I wonder when the popcorn guy is going to get here????
OK, this is just rude, I came all this way and the teams didn’t even show up!

The stadium website stated the ticket window was open on Sunday’s but a trip to pick up tickets for a Yankee’s game proved the info wasn’t correct… leaving an empty feeling for a lone fan. This trip to the ball field did have disappointments (no tickets) but it didn’t end on a sour note, after all how many people get to have an entire stadium to themselves!

My anticipation of what would happen when someone took a swing at a grapefruit was for nought… sigh – just hitting balls after all. Hope you get your tickets soon. I expect it’s harder to get a photo of empty stands when there’s a game on!

Yep … pitchers and catchers are starting to show up. Once again there’s hope, and soon (if only for a day) the Cubs will be tied for first place again.

The top image is my favourite, what surprise might reveal itself as you come out through the tunnel 🙂 I am not into baseball so I don’t know much about the game but these images illustrates the anticipation.

Ellen said “Spring Training is about Hope” I hope the Mets will actually be able to field a AA team……

Like the painterly (?) effect you have used here….all great images….have to wonder if that wheelbarrow was actually there or you added it somehow……favorite is the third….love the way the guy is standing there with his foot up, hand on hip, surveying the scene!

The wheel barrel was there, I found that amusing and wondered if the pitchers mound was taking on a new look this year. Nice to hear comments on the slight use of process – topaz simplify 🙂

You’ve really captured the anticipation of the excitement of the baseball season. I’m not a big follower of baseball but live with two people who are. I like to people watch at the game!
