American Coot is another duck like water bird inhabiting ponds and marshes, their diet is aquatic plants therefore, they are excellent divers. This photo was taken shortly after the Moorhen incident that was posted yesterday and at this time warning calls exchanged between the Moorhen and Coot. There may be an appearance of calm in this photograph yet a closer look reveals the alert in the red eye of this American Coot as it SLOWLY makes it way to safe harbor.
