The Letter “T”

Every year in the US on the 15 of April the media makes a big deal using a word beginning with The Letter ‘T’.  This the final day to file an income “T”ax report. All returns submitted with a postal stamp before 12 midnight will be spared interest penalties. Television reporters who have no big stories to work on can be found at post offices filming and interviewing a line of last minute filers for their big story on the late night news. Some people file late year after year just to get on television. Guess everyone is entitled to 15 minutes of fame.

I always hand my stuff off to my tax preparer in early March. It’s really not that hard to do unless you are a total procrastinator!

As a total procrastinator I’m glad for the extra days this year due to Emancipation Day in DC on the 15th being a holiday and extending the deadline until Monday.

after writing and posting this one I saw the report of the extra days and felt sheepish about not being aware of the reprieve! hope you’re getting a refund.
